We were able to help a young man in our ward work towards his Eagle Scout by making pillowcases for those in need! My 3 men picked out Lightening McQueen print with checkered flag trim and they looked GREAT! Join the fun:

November 2009
This month there was a group putting together activity folders for schools in outlying countries. We were happy to take home the descriptions for "Telling Time" folders. The folders needed to include a working clock (one that the children can manipulate the hands) multiple time cards that were laminated, and Velcro pieces attached to the backs so that they do not fall from position. All were placed inside manila folders. Kaleb enjoyed seeing how they went together, and practiced drawing out a card and moving the hands of the clock to match!

This month we were introduced to a need at our local shelter for young boys who have been taken from their homes and families and are waiting to go into foster care. What a great opportunity as our sons went throug things they enjoy having daily and helped us decide what to include. We made bags for them to have on hand so the boys have "something" when usually they do not. The bags said "We Care, We Share" and included books, toy cars, and homemade blankets to hopefully give some comfort in their transition.
